Trauma focused & EMDR Intensive Therapy
EMDR (Eye movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) is a targeted and focused therapy that identifies the root cause of issues and dismantles the blocks that keep people stuck in pain. It is effective in the recovery of addictions, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex PTSD, a wide range of phobias (eg: flying, dental, public speaking), anxiety, depression, early attachment wounding and relationship trauma as we all as multiple other mental health concerns.
I have specialist skills to work with individuals across the lifespan as well as couples struggling with a wide range of difficulties using trauma informed approaches. In addition to EMDR I utilise a number of trauma informed approaches to optimise healing; Sensorimotor psychotherapy, Comprehensive Resource Model and Deep Brain Reorienting to treat the unresolved shock or pain from recent distressing events (road traffic accidents, domestic abuse, medical trauma) as well as historical traumas (infancy and childhood attachment trauma, neglect, abuse, bullying etc).
Intensive EMDR & trauma focused intervention will support you to;
regulate your emotions & move beyond anxiety to a state of calm
resolve trauma that is stored in your body and generate positive thinking
Tap into your own innate healing ability and process the symptoms of trauma
Intensive sessions can be booked in 2, 4 or 6 (full day) blocks and are available in person or online for Individuals, couples and families.

EMDR is an evidence based therapy endorsed by the WHO, NHS and NICE.

Identify the issues that are affecting each member of the family
View your strengths, resources and resilience as a family
Develop new ways of communicating with each other
Learn how to create supportive environments for each other

Support your child and deepen your attachment bond with them
Working with your child/ adolescent
EMDR for CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS
As an attachment and trauma specialist I use various therapies and interventions to support your child to overcome distressing events or traumas from their life (eg: abuse, neglect, phobias, hospitalisations, bullying, behavioural issues etc). I draw on EMDR story work and creative systemic narratives that represent your child’s experiences for processing traumatic events in their life. As a trained Dyadic Development Psychotherapy practitioner I value the importance of humour and playfulness to create safety and containment. My therapeutic style is collaborative, curious, playful and empathic.
Our work will support you to recognise your resilience, strengths and ability to flourish and heal together with your child.
My work with younger children always involves the parent and child in sessions together. This collaborative way of working deepens the bond of attachment and supports your child to move through trauma in a safe way. I see teenagers on a one to one basis with intermittent family sessions with either or both parents to ensure they lend their perspective on the work being done with their child. I offer in person sessions at my home practice in East London (zone 2).
I work within local schools as a family therapist and EMDR child and adolescent consultant. I am a CORAM approved Adoption Support Fund therapeutic provider.
I have an up to date enhanced DBS and I am fully insured to work with you and your child.
